Started off mild and dry…ended mild and soaked. More discussion around what to do with the right hand start to the Gay Line; BEaN is on it now though and the berm to berm thing should a real grin to ride. Too wet to take any snaps on the outside so front and back door views only.

Site overhaul soon…is only to get Paul(y), to stop crying about it.

A trip to ‘Nam this morning was fun, gave Paul a chance to show off his Inspector Gadget on-board bike rack. Geek. Unfortunately as well as forgetting to charge my flash trigger I also seem to have forgotten how to take pictures. See exhibits a to c, sorry chaps. BEaN managed to bring most of his Christmas lunch with him…

Had a play at Dagenham race track too, much fun but also much exhaustion…Pauly B hitting the middle section at full speed was neat. Got to the trails for a dig later than planned but not as late as Paul and Scott who decided to come home on the M25 and then got fooked by a closed A12 slip road; detour via the M11 and A414 anyone?! More leaf clearance, a bit more work on the box thing and then it got dark.

Productive afternoon; stopped bickering and decided on a new school, sorry nu skool box jump thing as the replacement for the volcano. Basically it’s going to be a step up with a fanned out wider landing…should be good fun and mean we can go bigger on the next set. A few plans for that too and the entrance into the berm but more on that when we get this box thingy finished.

Leaf clearance about half way done now, pump track is totally done…dirty smelly job but oddly rewarding. A bit of drainage work done too but still need to consider how to sort the Injury Line as it floods like a bastid. Bit more done to the original third set in the Gay Line too a good fun afternoon with donuts and everything. Roll on 2012.

Major fail this year on the site updates for sure…will address that from here on out. The recent mild weather has meant that the leaves have been late in falling this year, last weeks’ high winds pulled the remaining off and its now full on clearance season…about a third complete now but still loads to go; OCD time for me…I do like stuff to stay tidy!!

Changing the volcano on the skatepark line was not a success this year so we decided it needed to be revisited again, unfortunately Scott, BEaN and Paul didn’t supervise the work so a nameless individual was allowed to vandalise it and destroy the lovely pump down for the next set…’nuvva rebuild methinks.

Gay line is being totally revamped; second set has been turned into a roller and the third set now has a bigger right side line to make the last section work properly. The first set has been knocked down and is being rebuilt so we can run a straight line from the smaller start mound and but retain a hipped start from the original start…should make for some fun trains when it’s done!!

Planning permission news will follow in the next couple of weeks…

well we think we have one side of the planning permission sorted; parking and access…Land owner also owns the land next to the Transco gas works and has given us permission to use it provided we clean it up. took a while but it’s done. Best part of the day was Paul unearthing a toy gun just as two cop cars arrived…apparantly we were travellers setting up a new camp!!! ’scuse the crappy phone pics!

the other end of the planning permission shenanigans is the fund raising…doing good, so we have decided to share our sponsors so far :o)

Update; the council have finally responded to our initial planning application and much too every ones relief we are looking good! Now we have the main obstacle to deal with; full planning application and funding that application…it’s gonna cost a minimum of £335 (section 12), to submit the planning request and we only have until the beginning of August to sort it.

We are in desperate need of donations\fund raising ideas and want your help…this is also the last chance to make contact and your name on the list so you can ride LG in the future; the only way we can make this work is by making it members only…“if your name is not down you ain’t coming in!”

Please get involved, we have to save the trails!

Grand Fromage puts it pretty simply; “if we don’t hear from you, you can’t help out and if you don’t help out you can’t ride”“.

Got a mail from Sylvain who visited us a while ago he has started a clothing and parts company called Shape Bicycles…some t’s, a (tuff II inspired), sprocket and stem available at present; all looks to be good stuff, stem bolt configuration looks dope…Good Luck Sylvain, hope see you August!
